A 27-year-old woman was kidnapped and held for five days in a Leslieville home where she was repeated sexually assaulted, according to Toronto police.

The woman, who is a sex trade worker, was approached by a man at Sherbourne and Shuter streets last Tuesday.

Police allege the accused pulled a gun on her and forced her to go to his home, in the Dundas Street East and Jones Avenue area.

It was there he bound her with duct tape and handcuffs, holding her captive for five days while repeatedly sexually assaulting the woman, police said.

On Sunday, she escaped to the porch where a passerby heard her screams and called the police.

The woman was checked out in hospital but has since been released in “good condition,” Insp. Joanna Beaven-Desjardins said at a news conference on Tuesday morning.

Based on the nature and the severity of the crime, police believe there may be more victims.

Police have contacted the Ontario Provincial Police’s serial predator unit to investigate possible links to other crimes.

The accused has “some form of ritualistic actions,” Beaven-Desjardins said, and appeared to target his victim.

Police were tight-lipped about the details but did say the accused did things “we are unfamiliar with,” she said.

The accused is originally from Timmins, Ont., and has spent time in Chatham and London. He has lived in Toronto for the past 10 years, Beaven-Desjardins said.

Rejean Hermel Perron, 43, of Toronto. has been charged with sexual assault with a weapon, kidnapping, forcible confinement, and assault.

He was arrested on Monday and was set to appear in a College Park court on Tuesday morning.
