Established in 1924, the Timmins Public Library lived in several buildings until moving into a former post office building (now a part of City Hall) in 1960. The library couldn’t keep up with the growing collection of books, needing a bigger space to house all of them. Campaigning for a new library started April 2001. Four years later after many meetings, design proposals and fundraising campaigns later, the new library opened its forever home doors on April 25th, 2005.
Churcher says there will also be a slide show on display with various scenes of the library at its former and new locations.
