denise street homicideThe investigation into two suspicious deaths continues with the Timmins Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Unit, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police’s Forensic Identification Unit. The Ontario Provincial Police also assisted with the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

Police continue to process the scene on Denise Street, where two individuals were located deceased on Saturday, May 2. Police attended the residence for a next-of-kin notification, following a fatal motor vehicle collision on May 1.

Following a post-mortem examination which occurred on Tuesday, May 5 in Sudbury, the deceased individuals located inside the residence have been positively identified as Carole Gagnon, 57, and Michel Gagnon, 57, both of Timmins. Police can confirm that the two deceased individuals were the parents of Richard Gagnon, the individual who died as a result of the motor vehicle collision.

As previously stated, police believe these two incidents are linked, but isolated. Residents are assured that there are no public safety concerns at this time.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing and no further details are available. The Timmins Police Service reminds the public that this is a major case investigation, therefore information can only be released when appropriate and at the discretion of the investigative team.
