Kids Can Play!

Helping more kids stay healthy and play sports is the name of their game.

Kidsport is hosting the first ever Timmins Sports Day, July 25th. President, Colleen Landers says this is there way of giving back to the community.

“We wanted to let people in Timmins know how many sports are offered and have the opportunity for children to see all the difference sports and register in one place. We have more and more parent walking in and they want their child to be in sports but don’t know what’s out there.”

Landers says they’ll have 26 booths set up but soccer and basketball have just pulled out of the showcase.  Along with local sports, the YMCA, Timmins Rock, and Timmins Police will also have kiosks and presentations.

The Kidsport offices will be open as well, Landers says they’ve helped over 130 children this year and have handed out around $39,000.
