They also plan on installing a new HVAC system.

Conservative MP Jay Aspin (Nipissing-Timiskaming) made the announcement Tuesday afternoon, and says the Department of National Defence is putting in $135-million overall to cover similar projects all across the country.

The process to start construction is already in progress, and is expected to take about two years to complete.

The government estimates that the investments will also support the creation of more than 10,000 jobs in Timmins and other communities across Canada by the end of 2016.
