Numbers at Northern on the rise

Northern College is bucking the provincial trend.

President Fred Gibbons says enrolment confirmation numbers are up by about 9.3% from last year.

That’s compared to the combined numbers for colleges across Ontario, which are down slightly by around 1.5%.

Another stat up at Northern is the enrolment of first year students.  Numbers for those are up from last year by about 7.3% (or 895 confirmations this year; 818 at this time in 2014.)

He says they have every reason to be optimistic with these numbers, as there’s about a month left before students go to the college and physically register in their courses.
