Sept 07 drug seizureTwo local residents are now facing multiple charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act following an investigation by the Timmins Police Service’s Drug Enforcement Unit.

On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Timmins in relation to the investigation. A search of the residence led to the seizure of various drugs, including approximately 114 grams of Cocaine, over 8300 methamphetamine tablets, approximately 340 grams of Cannabis-Marihuana, 29 grams of Psilocybin, 99 Oxycodone tablets, 219 grams of Cannabis-Resin, 30 grams of MDMA, and 65 Fentanyl patches. Police also seized various drug paraphernalia.

The total street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $140,109. Police also seized over $41,000 in Canadian currency.

Jessica BELANGER, 27, of Timmins, and Wendy ROTHWELL, 43, of Timmins are charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking of a Schedule I substance (x5), Possession for the purpose of trafficking of a Schedule II substance (x2), Possession for the purpose of trafficking of a Schedule III substance (x1), and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.

Jessica BELANGER was released on a recognizance of bail with a court date of September 22, 2015. Wendy ROTHWELL was remanded to September 11, 2015 for a bail hearing.
