That’s the reality, and the reasoning for the Northeast Community Care Access Centre to honour people with the 2nd Annual “Heroes in the Home” Caregiver Recognition Awards.

The CCAC’s Sean Barrette says the amount of work put in by these “informal caregivers” adds up to about $25-billion worth of service, which without these awards seemingly goes unnoticed by the general public.

“Until now, they have laboured away from the spotlight,” adds Northeast CCAC Board Chair Ron Farrell, “We are pleased and proud to change that focus.”
