For some people, the short walk from city hall to the bus station can be a struggle.

World Sight Day is being celebrated in Timmins by bringing awareness to the limited accessibility of those who are blind or partially sighted.

Cynthia Barty, with the CNIB, says five city council members are taking this short walk but with impairments. They will be wearing simulator goggles which give a peek into the world of someone who is blind or partially sighted.

The walk will also feature obstacles blind people face everyday.

The accessibility awareness walk starts at 4 o’clock today at City Hall.
