P1010234Timmins’ downtown core has a refreshing new look.

The new logo was designed by Newbie Media and installed atop the Empire Hotel building and along the wall facing Algonquin beside Amigos on Cedar St. South. BIA Manager, Noella Rinaldo says the new look represents the modern path the downtown core is heading toward.

“We’ve worked so hard on the infrastructure in the downtown core for the last  four or five years and it’s like finally getting the paint a room.”

Downtown has seen is fair share of construction in the last few years, whether it’s replace water mains, rebuilding roads, or installing new hydro vaults, Rinaldo says despite all this they’ve decided to leave the BIA out of the logo.

“The public really owns the downtown and really doesn’t know what the BIA is.  They just want to know where downtown Timmins is.”

Newbie Media says the circle logo is inspired from the unity of downtown.  The modern feel of it represents where the downtown core is heading.

The new signs can be seen atop the Empire Hotel, and beside Amigos on Cedar St South. P1010236
