Local businesses keeping a closer eye on hydro meters

Businesses, big and small, will be affected by Hydro One’s hike.

Nick Stewart with the Timmins Chamber of Commerce says the hydro one price has a major impact on businesses as reducing energy costs is important to the bottom line for both large and small businesses.

Stewart says they have been working with the Ontario government and Chamber of Commerce to help businesses with the impact of the Hydro One price hikes.

The Ontario government also currently has programs in place which teach businesses how to lower their energy costs.

The 3.4 percent price hike is just the beginning of a predicted 13 percent hike we will see over the next 5 years.
