Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat releasing Henry from quarantine

Henry is coming out to play!

The newest addition to the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat is being released from quarantine and Manager Karen Cummings says it is a lengthy process because he is a bear from a different country.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is responsible for the approval and must look into the security and safety of the bear. They make sure there is no cross-pollination of bacteria or germs that would go from Henry to Ganuk.

While he won’t be placed with the other bear Ganuk just yet, Cummings is hopeful it will happen soon.

Henry will be moving to have access to all three enclosures and for the public to have more interaction with the new bear.
