Timmins Police, OPP and MADD Canada kick off festive RIDE program

The holiday season is a time to treasure your life, not put it in danger.

The Festive RIDE program is reminding residents to avoid drinking and driving.

MADD Canada, OPP, and the Timmins Police are increasing their presence throughout the holiday season at all times of the day.

Timmins Police Traffic Sergeant Thomas Chypyha says to always have a designated driver if you are planning on drinking, and to call a loved one or a taxi if your designated driver is unable to drive.

MADD Canada will be on hand to distribute information on the dangers of drunk driving and President Stephen Meunier says they want to get in front of the problem and prevent drunk driving from creating more victims.
