Timmins ready to welcome a Syrian refugee family

As Ontario begins to welcome Syrian refugees, Timmins is ready to as well.

The Timmins & District Multicultural Centre’s Tom Baby says they have raised $40,000, above and beyond the $25,000 necessary to sponsor a family and are very thankful to the community;

Tom Baby also says they are beginning to create a resettlement plan which is necessary for the application to privately sponsor a refugee family.

Donations are still being accepted and the refugee family will be arriving early in the new year.
