timminspolice logoA Timmins man now faces child pornography charges following an investigation by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and Timmins Police Service.

In relation to the investigation, officers from the Timmins Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in Timmins. As a result of the search warrant, several electronic devices were seized and examined by the Timmins Police Service’s Electronic Crimes unit. A search of the devices revealed numerous files identified as child pornography.

Clarence RIOUX, 60, of Timmins was subsequently charged with:

  • Importing, Distributing, Selling of Possessing for the Purpose of Distribution or Sale any Child Pornography (Sec. 163.1(3) Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of Child Pornography (Sec 163.1(4) Criminal Code of Canada)
  • Accessing Child Pornography (Sec. 163.1(4.1) Criminal Code of Canada)

Rioux was held in custody pending a bail hearing, set to take place today, February 1, 2016.
