bissonFiona Crean’s office is open for complaints as the new Hydro One Ombudsman.

But there are some that are saying her powers are very much weaker than the Ontario Ombudsman.

Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson explains.

He says this means any public oversight of the utility is essentially gone, adding this isn’t good news.

Then-Ombudsman Andre Marin helped to reveal thousands of billing issues, some as high as $20,000 to private residents.

Marin’s term expired last summer, and wasn’t renewed although there was an extension after an uproar caused over social media.  Paul Dube will take over as Ombudsman in Ontario April 1st.
