madd timminsMADD Timmins is giving Timmins Police more tools to take down impaired driving.

They have donated two roadside screening devices, which are ready to use right away.

MADD’s David Tonelli says it’s the best way for the organization to team up with the police, without actually patrolling the streets.

Each device is said to cost around $3,000, and everyone involved say it’s money well spent.

What Tonelli doesn’t understand is with all media advertising the dangers of drunk driving, all the campaigns, all the risks and penalties, the numbers of people being arrested for it continue to go up.

In fact, at least 40 people have been charged for impaired driving in each of 2014 and 2015.
