It’s a sign of the spring, Timmins is gearing up for the 69th annual Sportsman Show.The event once again being hosted at the McIntyre Arena and is featuring 220 booths and around 75 vendors.  Sportsman Show Chairman, John McCauley says it might biggest show they’ve ever had.

“We’ve secured vendors who haven’t been here before from places like Montreal and Toronto.  Our winters our so long, people are just chomping at the bit to get out an enjoy the fresh air.  When they here about the Sportsman Show they know Cottage season, fishing, and hunting is right around the corner.”

He says the Birds of Prey Show is expanding with more displays and bigger birds.

“The Fan Expo has it’s own space now so the Birds of Prey Show is expanding upstairs.  He’ll have displays and more birds too.”

McCauley adds, most of the profits also go back to the community in various forms.

“We have a Lion’s Park we maintain, we give to several organizations, we help people get to Toronto or doctors appointments if they need surgery.  It’s just a way we like to give back with our biggest fundraiser of the year.”

Doors are open from 10 a.m.  to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday to 5 p.m.
