The smoking by-law debate blows on, as the issue has been deferred.

Councillor Andrew Marks says the Downtown BIA board have a meeting in early-August, and Marks says members are still discussing what’s best for them if the by-law comes into effect.

A poll from the Timmins Chamber shows 65% of those surveyed would be in favour of the change from three to nine metres.

Council will revisit this topic in late August.
