The Timmins Police Service is completing its investigation into an attempted robbery which
occurred at an Algonquin Blvd hotel in Timmins at approximately 9:00 p.m. yesterday evening
(20 July).


A woman entered the hotel lobby at approximately 9:00 p.m. and approached the front desk
attendant and demanded money.
When the clerk refused, the female suspect physically accosted the attendant and attempted to
gain entry into the hotel office, indicating that she was in possession of a weapon.
The attendant managed to break free from the grasp of the robbery suspect, and had her coworker
call for police assistance.
The robbery suspect fled the scene on foot.
The attendant sustained minor injuries during the altercation.
Based on the investigation by the Timmins Police Service, a 41 year old woman from Timmins,
has been arrested and charged with:
– One count of Robbery with Intent contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
of Canada
The charged person has been released from custody on a Promise to Appear requiring her to
attend Provincial Court in Timmins on August 23rd, 2016, to answer to the charge laid against
her
