ready quip water mainA new water main in the west end is costing the city $80,000.

Ready Quip will contribute another $80,000 to the project, which will line the east side of their property with a 400 metre extension.

Councillor Walter Wawrzaszek wonders why the line is extending on the property instead of along the highway.

Director of Public Works Luc Duval explains it has to do with future expansion, as a new subdivision was recently approved in the area.

Mayor Steve Black says it might seem expensive, but this opens up new opportunities as more lots will have access to water.
