KWG Resources is hiring CANARAIL Consultants Inc to perform a feasibility study on a section of the Ring of Fire.

The project’s contractor, China Railway First Survey & Design Institute (FDSI) is also in on the study.  KWG says CANRAIL is a unique company with the right skills and expertise for this study.

“CANARAIL benefits from the unique expertise that it has gained in providing similar services to other mining interests either here in Canada or abroad”, said KWG President Frank Smeenk.

“CANARAIL’s knowledge of current materials and services pricing in Canada plus what it takes to design and build a mining railway while complying with local environmental, social and other applicable standards will prove to be of great assistance in facilitating and expediting completion of the feasibility study proposed by FSDI.”

CANRAIL has a long list of feasibility studies on its resume, including a study for a 330km multi-user mining railway in Northern Quebec and another in Saudi Arabia for 2,400km of railway.

It was only last November when employees from FSDI were shown around the proposed Ring of FIre development.  FDSI is carrying on a study for an ore-hauling railway.

KWG owns 30% stake in the Ring of Fire chromite deposit along with Noront.
