The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into two incidents where a suspect is alleged to have committed an assault and uttered threats stemming from a dispute among neighbors in the north end of the city.

The Timmins Police Services responded to the first incident on August 10th where a man is alleged to have accosted his female neighbor and her young son.

The Timmins Police completed their investigation into the matter and charged the suspect with one count of Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The suspect was released from custody on a Promise to Appear requiring that he attend Provincial Court on Sept 27th to answer to the charge laid against him.

During the evening hours of August 13th, a second incident occurred where the same man is alleged to have yelled death threats to the same female neighbor.

The Timmins Police have charged Bruce DENT, 57, of Timmins with:

  • One count of Utter Threats of Death or Bodily Harm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

DENT was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial
Court in Timmins.
