It may have taken four hours into Monday’s city council meeting, but Full Beard Brewing officials got to celebrate after council approved a zoning request to allow them to open their microbrewery and produce local beer.

Owner/Founder Jonathan St. Pierre says it’s been a long wait overall, and is excited to get brewing in Timmins.

“There’s obviously still some little things we have to get going, couple of things.  Construction permits, and get the quotes and stuff that we need to get ready, to start doing the construction on it,” he said.

“(It’s) gonna take a bit of time but we’re hoping in the next couple weeks that things can get rolling and we start doing some construction.”

There’s no guarantees being made, but St. Pierre is looking at opening to the public before Christmas time, ideally aiming for November.

“We’re working on (getting everything ready) as hard as we can to get the brew house and our brew tanks as well before the tasting room and stuff is settled,” he added.

Full Beard Brewing is located on the corner of Rea Street South and Wilson Avenue.  Until they officially open, St. Pierre and co will be launching beer at several local restaurants.

Keep up to date with their progress on Facebook.
