This year’s event to fight for women’s rights to freedom, safety and respect will look a little different.

That’s because organizers of the Take Back the Night march are inviting men to take part.  The Women in Crisis Centre says this is an effort to get both genders to stand united on the issue.

The event will feature a rally with aboriginal drumming and prayer, a keynote speaker, music, speeches and more.

Participants will hear from community experts on sexual violence and women’s rights.  There’s also giveaways planned.

The march goes in Timmins Tuesday night at 6:30pm from the Women in Crisis Centre on Wilson Avenue, rain or shine.
