Some heavy equipment is now in the building on the corner of Rea South and Wilson.

Full Beard Brewing officials and contractors welcomed the arrival of several beer tanks Thursday morning, an exciting highlight for Owner Jonathan St. Pierre as three years of hard work is almost ready to be showcased to the public.

He admits they’ve fallen a bit behind schedule with construction and proper licensing.

But with the arrival of the tanks, they’re aiming to open in mid-December.

“We’re working as fast as we can,” he adds, “We have all hands on deck on this and a lot of community support as well with contractors all the way to guys helping out and stuff…even pushing a broom.”

The taste of local suds won’t be foreign to anyone around here.  Their first beer, Five O’Clock Shadow, is already on the market at several establishments along with others down south.

When the brewery opens, St. Pierre is hoping to have “three to four” beers available right off the bat to serve and for patrons to take home.

“All depends on tank space and what we’re doing and what we have available…it all comes to licensing too.”

As far as new beers they’re working on, the next one is a personal favourite of St. Pierre’s.

It’s been in the works for a little bit.  While he wouldn’t tip his hat at a name, he says it’s “a nice, brown ale” and targeting a 6% alcohol content on it.

“It’s actually very smooth and flavourful with some nice caramel hints to it…a nice, creamy head on it.”

It may or may not be the next one to hit the market.  St. Pierre is collaborating with his brewer on how to move forward.Check below for some pictures of the construction zone.
