Timmins Police is appealing to the public to solve last week’s robbery of the Mac’s in Schumacher.

And more details on the robbery are coming to light.

Police say the store clerk was mopping at the back of the store when he noticed the suspect at the check out counter.

Once the clerk approached, the lone male suspect pulled a large machete from behind his back and asked for money. The clerk barricaded himself in the back of the store until police arrived.

There was a search of the area by a police K-9 unit, but the suspect was never found.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a ski mask along with a blue hoodie.

The case is also the “Crime of the Week” for the Cochrane and District Crime Stoppers program.
