The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into an occurrence involving a person who allegedly caused damage to private property, uttered threats, and breached conditions of his release on other unrelated charges.

The accused is alleged to have attended a Wilson Avenue apartment on two occasions during the daylight hours of December 6th.

On both occasions, the suspect caused minor damage to a parked vehicle and the apartment building and uttered threats to the occupant of the apartment.

The accused is awaiting trial on separate charges and is bound by strict conditions outlined in a Recognizance.

The suspect was identified, located and arrested by the Timmins Police yesterday.

Based on the investigation, Patrick LAPORTE, 21, of Timmins is charged with:

  • Two counts of Uttering Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Mischief under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Drive Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused person remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
