UPDATE: Highway 101 is back open.

The Timmins Police Service is in the midst of investigating a chain reaction collision involving a tractor trailer unit, a pick-up truck and an SUV at the bottom of Rae Hill in Timmins.

Emergency personnel from area fire departments are on scene.

No serious injuries are reported to police at this time.

The highway will remain closed in this area for the time being to allow for the removal of the vehicles involved.

Expect delays in this area for the next hour or so.

Local traffic is being halted and detoured to use Gold Mine Road for the time being.

Traffic is halted at the east entrance to Schumacher and at the Bruce Y preventing traffic from proceeding any further until emergency crews have completed their tasks related to this collision.

Follow up media releases will be made public when the highway is fully reopened.
