Timmins’ Alexya Racicot is making a little history.

She has been named onto the DARE International Youth Advisory Board, and is the first Canadian to be selected.

In a release on Facebook, Timmins Police say Alexya will join 50 American adolescents and one from the UK to assemble in Hawaii later this month for the advisory board’s to carve out the future for the DARE program in terms of direction, priorities and goals.

Racicot, a police coop student, was selected from a group of nominees from across the country.
