There’s no two-ways about it, the City of Timmins was nearly $2.4-million dollars in the red last year.

The unaudited financial report was voted on and accepted by Timmins city council Monday night, with no fanfare or crowing or questioning whatsoever.

Part of the problem in the numbers is that the multi-year capital for the Connecting Link project was recorded outside the general fund.

Revenues were also down in the city.  Those numbers came in just over $1.8-million under what they budgeted.

The final audited statement will come back later this year.
