When it comes to building permits issued, the numbers are slightly lower in Timmins.

But in terms of housing options available, the numbers saw a good spike in June and 2017 overall.

According to the city, they’ve created 15 new units in June alone, putting that number at 34 for the year overall. That’s up from the 20 at this time last year.

When it comes to the amount of permits issued for buildings—be it residential, commercial, industrial, cottages, institutional or mobile homes—they’re slightly lower than 2016.

In fact, zero new building permits have been issued for commercial or institutional development in 2017.

Overall, building permit numbers are at 215 from January 1 to June 30, 2017. In the same time frame in 2016, the number was at 230.
