Another Timmins woman has been charged this week after a domestic-related incident in the city.

Timmins Police say they were called to the city’s south end Wednesday just before 6:00pm after a report of a dispute.

“Reports indicated that the accused had allegedly entered a residence, causing damage to the residence, and physically assaulting her former partner and another individual in the residence,” police say.

They add information obtained shows the alleged assault by the accused was with an edged weapon, adding threats were allegedly made against the two victims.

“Further investigation indicated that the accused was bound by a recognizance as well as a probation order, with conditions not to annoy, harass, molest or physically interfere with the victim and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.”

A 22-year old Timmins woman faces nine charges in all:

  • Assault with a Weapon (x2)
  • Assault (x2)
  • Uttering Threats
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with Recognizance
  • Fail to Comply with Probation (x2)

The woman was held in custody, pending a bail hearing set for Thursday.

Her name is not being published, as per a standard practice by the Timmins Police Service to avoid identifying the victim.

This comes a day after a report of two other incidents of domestic violence, which resulted in charges to two other women.
