An Alberta woman felt the need for speed on Highway 144.

Unfortunately for her, the South Porcupine OPP were right there to catch her in the act and lay a charge.

They say Tuesday evening at 6:17pm, OPP was conducting radar enforcement near Roblin Township. And it was then that 37-year old Edmonton woman Jennifer King was observed going an excess of 70km over the posted 80km/h speed limit.

King was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed. In addition, her vehicle was impounded for seven days and her license was suspended for the same period of time.

She will appear in a Timmins courtroom on September 18th to answer to the charge.

OPP is reminding the public that if convicted of this offense, you could face a fine of at least $2,000, imprisonment and an additional license suspension.
