The future of the Golden Manor could be shaped in the next number of weeks.

The city is looking to hire a firm to conduct a feasibility study into redevelopment options for the long-term care home, one of which being a brand new facility.

Mayor Steve Black outlined the options Tuesday evening, noting the other options include renovation on the current footprint or expansion on an expanded footprint.

It’s part of a government mandate that want homes to be in compliance with 2015 design standards by 2024.

The study would cost just over $83-thousand dollars and go to L360 Architecture and Glos Associates Inc.

This will come back for formal approval at a future meeting.
