It would be premature to say the Timmins Rock (4-10-0-1) have hit rock bottom a month and a half into the season.

But something will need to change on the ice to get some wins under their belt. They have now lost five straight games after a 7-3 defeat at the hands of the Powassan Voodoos (12-2-0-0) Monday night.

You do have to credit this Rock team though, hanging with the defending NOJHL Champions—which includes several returnees—and held a lead early in the second period.

They even out shot the home side 33-22.

But it was all for not as the Rock remain win-less on the road this season (0-6-0-1).

Alex Brisson, James Redmond and Evan Kentish-Stack all scored power play markers to pace the Rock offense.

Brendan Bishop suffered the loss, giving up four goals on 10 shots before getting the hook after the Voodoos took a 4-3 lead midway through the second period.

Eric Jackson made nine saves on 10 shots in relief.

The Rock remain at the bottom of the NOJHL’s East Division with nine points on the year, three back of their next opponent in the Hearst Lumberjacks (6-5-0-0).

The Rock and Lumberjacks lock up Friday night at the McIntyre Arena at 7:00pm.
