It seems residents are waiting it out a little more to buy Stars and Thunder ticket sales.

Next week’s council agenda will feature an update on the 2018 festival, and it notes just under 28-hundred tickets have been sold (as of December 29th).

That’s compared to the over 12-thousand tickets sold for the 2017 festival around that time.

Looking at it in dollar values, this year’s sales have totaled almost $847-thousand dollars. That’s compared to the over $2.75-million dollars in revenue generated for the inaugural event.

A couple other Stars and Thunder-related items are on the agenda.

CAO Dave Landers will issue a monthly update, which will indicate efforts over the last month centred around artist contracts.

The report says they’re continuing to review contracts for already-announced artists and have also reviewed the contracts for local and regional artists.

About 10-15 local and regional artists will perform on the main stage. Those names are expected to be announced next Friday, January 12th.

Council will also look to accept a contract with ATCO Trailers for the supply of trailers for artists and volunteers.

The value of the contract is $64,630, but there’s a discount of $14,000 in exchange for a sponsorship.
