**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man stemming from an incident which occurred during the evening hours of Sunday, April 22nd.

While performing general patrol of his assigned zone, a Timmins Police Service officer had occasion to observe an SUV being driven in an erratic fashion.

The officer followed the vehicle with his emergency lighting in use for a period of time.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop in a residential area in the south end of the city.
Based on observations made by the officer, the driver was arrested and taken into custody.

As a result of the incident, Steve LAMOTHE, 36, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Flight While Being Pursued by a Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Fail to Provide Breath Sample contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Drive While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused was released from custody and is required to attend Provincial Court on May 8th to answer to the charges laid against him.
