**OPP NEWS RELEASE**


During the morning of May 3, 2018, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North East Region Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a residence on Front Street in the Town of Hearst, Ontario.

 

Police seized suspected methamphetamine, unmarked cigarettes and $2105 in Canadian currency.

 

Steve ROUSSY, 48 years of age, of Hearst, Ontario, was charged with the following offences:

 

 

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA;
  • Traffick Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – Under 3 kilograms, contrary to section 5(1) CDSA;
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Possess Unmarked Cigarettes contrary to section 29(2) of the Tobacco Tax Act (TTA)

 

 

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst, Ontario, on June 6, 2018.

 

The total estimated street value of the seizure is of approximately $2245.
