**OPP NEWS RELEASE**

On May 16, 2018 at approximately 12:44 p.m. members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an attempt theft call on Lake Temagami Access Road, in Temagami, Ontario.

The owner of the vehicle had parked the truck on the Lake Temagami Access Road, in Temagami, Ontario, between May 14 and May 16, 2018. When the owner returned to his vehicle, he observed that damage had been done, and someone had attempted to steal his vehicle.

 As a result of the investigation, police have identified a person of interest and are continuing their investigation in this matter.

Police would like to remind the public, to lock your vehicle at all times and to not leave any valuables inside.   

Police will be conducting extra patrols on the Lake Temagami Access Road, in Temagami, Ontario and are asking anyone who observes suspicious activity, to report it immediately to OPP or your nearest police authority. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
