**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service was called to the scene of a dispute in a residential section of Schumacher during the early evening hours of Sunday, May 27th.

Based on the investigation into the dispute where 2 female persons were allegedly accosted verbally and physically by a male person, an arrest was completed a short while later, once the man was located by the Timmins Police Service.

It is further alleged that at one point during the dispute, the male person approached the female persons in his vehicle in an allegedly menacing manner which interfered with the orderly flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.

As a result, Richard VAILLANCOURT, 42, of Schumacher, is charged with
– 2 counts of Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 2 counts of Utter Threats contrary to section 264.1 (1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of Cause Disturbance contrary to section 175(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 249(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of Breach of Probation contrary to section 733.1 the Criminal Code of Canada

The arrested person was held for a bail hearing slated to take place this morning (May 28th) at Provincial Court in Timmins.
