**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

The Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division executed an arrest warrant yesterday afternoon and has taken a local man into custody.

Based on an incident reported to police on April 11th where a 46 year old Timmins resident sustained critical injury during an alleged assault, the Timmins Police Service sought an arrest warrant for Christopher KILLEEN, 37, of Timmins on charges of:

– Attempt Murder contrary to section 239(1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada
– Breach of Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The suspect remains in police awaiting a bail hearing on the above charges slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
