**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**

Between July 15 and July 21 2018, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were out on patrol conducting traffic enforcement on our roads, but specifically for Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) infractions.

During this past week’s traffic initiative, a total of 59 CMV drivers were stopped during Operation Safe Trucking in the Kirkland Lake Detachment area. One warning was issued, five drivers were charged with speeding, two were charged with speed-limiter infractions, one driver was charged with a moving violation, four drivers were charged with defective equipment and four drivers were charged for improper documents.

Police would like to thank the majority of drivers in the area who respected the rules of the road and arrived safely at their destination.
