**TEMISKAMING OPP MEDIA RELEASE**


Between July 15 and July 21 2018, members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were out on patrol conducting traffic enforcement on our roads, but specifically for Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) infractions.

During this past week’s traffic initiative, a total of 90 CMV drivers were stopped during Operation Safe Trucking in the Temiskaming Detachment area. Four warnings were issued, 32 drivers were charged with speeding, three were charged with speed-limiter infractions, three were charged with seatbelt offences, one driver charged with distracted driving, eight drivers were charged with moving violations, seven drivers were charged with defective equipment and 12 drivers were charged for improper documents.

Police would like to thank the majority of drivers in the area who respected the rules of the road and arrived safely at their destination.
