**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS UPDATE**


A Timmins Police officer attended the scene of a two vehicle collision yesterday afternoon (July 24) resulting from one driver allegedly attempting to complete a turn in an unsafe manner and colliding with another vehicle.

No injuries were sustained by either driver.

One of the vehicles involved in the collision, a black 2013 Chevrolet pickup sustained significant damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.

It also sustained a flattened tire as a result of the collision which required that the vehicle be removed via tow truck.

The driver, a 45 year old woman from Porcupine, has been charged with Turn – Not in Safety contrary to section 142(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The other vehicle involved sustained minor damage and was drivable from the scene.

The Timmins Police has completed their investigation and traffic flows returned to normal in the area of the collision in a timely manner.

Motorists are reminded to undertake lane changes and any other turning maneuvers only once a thorough 360 check has taken place and it is safe to complete the maneuver without interfering with other traffic. Your safety and that of other motorists depend on diligence behind the wheel.
