This week, we are featuring platform highlights from the Ward Councillor candidates in the upcoming election. Our stations have reached out to each Councillor candidate to outline their platform for listeners. This is Ward 5 Councillor candidate Michelle Boileau’s submitted platform.


Michelle Boileau is an engaged resident who strives for social equity in the City of Timmins.

She is Regional Director of Recruitment & Partnerships with Contact North | Contact Nord, and worked in Marketing & Recruitment at Collège Boréal for almost seven years before that. She holds a Master’s of Research degree in Educational & Social Research and an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Second Language Teaching, specialized to teach French.

Michelle Boileau believes in the potential the City of Timmins offers its residents. She thinks we need to be focusing on the retention and attraction of a healthy, happy population.

If elected, Michelle commits to upholding social responsibility and inclusivity, to encouraging economic diversity, to supporting cultural and recreational initiatives, and to fostering strategies for a more eco-efficient Timmins.

Given the opportunity, Michelle will promote evidence-based decision-making while ensuring that ALL voices are heard and ALL perspectives are considered in the process.
