**KIRKLAND LAKE OPP NEWS RELEASE**

On October 25, 2018 shortly after 6:00 a.m. members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of an assault with a weapon on Government Road West, in the town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

The injured party suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital. 

A 30-year-old female of Kirkland Lake, Ontario was arrested at the scene. She is charged with the following: 

  • Aggravated Assault, contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code(C.C.),
  • Resist Peace Officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the C.C., and
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the C.C.

 

She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, on October 26, 2018.
