**COCHRANE OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On October 30, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., officers of the James Bay Detachments and of the South Porcupine Highway Safety Division (HSD) of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic safety initiative on Highway 11 in the Town of Cochrane, Ontario. The OPP Canine unit, the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) and the Ministry of Finance (MOF) also participated.

 

During the initiative, 560 checks were conducted and 12 Provincial Offences Notices under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) were issued. Many motor vehicles were subjected to further inspection and several warnings were issued.
