**NORTHEASTERN CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD NEWS RELEASE**

The Northeastern Catholic District School Board Inaugural Meeting was a beautiful evening of celebration, beginning with a prayer service led by Bishop Poitras. The Trustees then joined together in a Commissioning Ceremony and took their oath of office. It was a very special way for the Board of Trustees to come together in prayer and show their unwavering commitment to Catholic Education.

Immediately following these inaugural activities, the Director of Education officially called the meeting to order and opened the floor to nominations for the position of Chairperson. Following the acclamation of Richard Brassard to Chair of the Board, the meeting and election process was turned over to him and he called for nominations for the position of Vice-Chair. Colleen Landers was then acclaimed as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Richard Brassard, Board Chair commented, “I certainly appreciate the vote of confidence that my trustee colleagues have placed in me over the past 11 years in electing me to the position of Chair. Once again I look forward to the challenge and the responsibility that comes with the position.”

The NCDSB Board of Trustees would like to wish all of our teachers, staff members, students and their families a very Merry Christmas.”
