**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service is in the midst of investigating a sudden death occurrence stemming from a report of a deceased person received this morning.

A 50 year old male person was reported to have been located in a bathroom at a local restaurant in apparent medical distress.

The man was transported to Timmins and District Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced as deceased.

The deceased was known to the Timmins Police Service.

The Timmins Police Service maintained physical control of the scene within the restaurant in order to complete a thorough and comprehensive forensic investigation of the area in which the man was found. The scene has since been released from police control.

This matter remains under investigation by the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division in collaboration with the local Coroner’s office.

Next of kin notifications are being managed by the Timmins Police Service.
Foul play has not been ruled out at this time.

A post mortem examination is likely to be scheduled to occur in the next few days.

The results of the post mortem examination and other standard investigative measures currently underway will likely provide details that will determine what course of action will be undertaken by the Timmins Police Service.
